Passion Projects:
Top Tips
1. Make sure you know (and your school knows) how to do inquiry well, BEFORE you decide to introduce personalised inquiries.
2. KNOW that this is totally worthwhile and that the time spent on it is totally justified. In other words, give yourself permission to do this!.
3. Many of the students may get panicked as they do not know what their PASSION is yet, so keep it open and encourage them to inquire into something they LOVE or wish they had more time to investigate or learn about.
4. Take plenty of time over generating the questions to be explored. Use it as a teaching point about what makes a good inquiry question. Don’t RUSH.
5. Try using a central place, such as a Google Site to keep all your students ongoing notes/ reflections so that you can respond to them in between sessions.
